Sewing Machines for Beginners

Open to ages 18+. Get free, hands-on instruction from an experienced instructor, Carmen Nunez, on how to make a variety of cloth creations with a sewing machine. Each project-based class is designed to teach you a different sewing machine technique. The sewing machine and all materials and tools are provided. All participants will use the same Singer Fashion Mate 3342 sewing machine during class; you may not bring your own machine.

Before registering, please ensure that you are committed to attending. Each class is 3.5 hours long and involves a lot of focus, patience, and a willingness to learn and be taught.

Due to overwhelming demand and to make these classes available to as many people as possible, you may register for a maximum of one class per month including waitlist spots. If you register but are unable to attend, you must notify us promptly by leaving a voicemail at 727-394-6922. You must call to cancel; cancelling online is not acceptable.

When you register, be prepared to arrive on time and stay for the full duration of the class. Participants who cancel within one week of class and/or without calling, do not return confirmation phone calls, or do not show up to class will be removed from future classes in order to free up space for others. These strict rules are necessary to help reduce the number of last-minute cancellations. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the program coordinator, AnnMarie Flora, at 727-394-6922. Thank you for your dedication and understanding, and we hope to see you at a class soon.
